The Magical Configuration

I have only recently felt that my work has been of a standard worth showing,
although Iv been doing this stuff all my life.Ive been intreuiged for a while
in the idea of something created/depicted on a page that has something in it to be
able to project ripples of effect.At a basic level something can inspire others,
creating positve growth,and creative growth branches yet further,an idea becoming

reality through will and ritual.

Maybe this idea could be taken to other levels,marks on paper- that configured

in such a way could exceed the sum of their parts,like the notes of music,

with embedded frequencies..
In 2008 I created The Majical configuration,and last year refined it to completion

-a series of charcoal drawingsthat I think is the best thing Iv created to date,

Many of the details and images reproduced for this picture were from drawings

and sketches I did exactly 10 years previously at a time when my mind was

stretching itself for an artistic direction with new concepts and ideas,

a temporary side effect of this effort

was that my got into the habit of dreaming things before they happened,
mainly small everyday events but also things like the Southall train crash,
the Omagh car bomb,and a murder victim found in an attic wrapped in carpet.
10 years on I transferred these drawings to this design,where they fitted into this

configuration like pieces in a puzzle.The process of creating it was draining to
say the least,leaving me open to colds,flu,and headaches and leaving

my head feeling like it was seeing and feeling everything through a fog..

but now its complete its one of those things that continues to inspire me

with a creative flow that has been strong and inspired sinse.
